Endorphins are naturally occurring substances released by the brain that resemble opiates, and are theorized to be the brain chemicals that relieve pain, boost your metabolism and make you feel happy and content. It is the extra release of endorphins that takes away the craving for nicotine. It is similar to smoking in that, when you smoke and inhale, the nicotine goes into your body and makes you feel better for 20-30 minutes. These effects generally wear off quickly, prompting you to smoke another cigarette to raise your endorphin level once again. You are basically under constant stress & pressure to continue smoking. This is where the addiction comes in. Through low-level laser therapy (LLLT), your brain will release these endorphins continuously for an extended period of time, therefore diminishing the physical craving.

The extra release of endorphins greatly diminishes the physical dependency and addiction to nicotine, it alleviates the negative withdrawal, cravings and stress normally associated with quitting smoking and generally leaves you feeling very calm and relaxed. Additional diet and weight loss points are stimulated as well to help ensure that you don’t transfer the habit from smoking to eating. During the laser treatment, some clients have reported feeling a warm, tingling sensation, while others simply experience a very calming/relaxing sensation. The release of endorphins has been said to assist in sleeping, aid in stress reduction as well as giving you a general sense of well-being. These feelings could last up to 9 months. To avoid weight gain following your laser therapy, it is strongly recommended that you eat smaller meals more often during the day, and of course, watch your choices. You are much less likely to gain weight following your therapy due to the fact that we stimulate metabolic points important in your overall health. Once you quit smoking your energy level increases, as does circulation, making exercise that much easier and more enjoyable.
