Chronic Pain Assessment & Program:

A chronic pain assessment program is typically required for patients who have already done most types of therapy without success and are defined as having ‘Chronic Pain Syndrome’. In order to board_meeting.jpg be a chronic patient, generally your symptoms must be persistent for more than 3-6 months, or having pain lasting longer than expected after an injury or illness. For a person who would undergo a chronic pain program, there may also be psychological and emotional issues caused from the injuries sustained. This could involve fear of movement (fear avoidance), depression, pain worsening, sleep disturbances, mood disturbances, psychological problems, social interaction and employment issues. Chronic pain treatment procedures may include the following: Medical Nerve Block and/or Cortisone Injections, Prescribed Medications, Acupuncture, Aqua Therapy, Chiropractic, Massage therapy, and Psychotherapy.

Neuro-psychological Assessment:

Motor vehicle accident victims can be greatly helped by psychology staff immediately following trauma. For instance, the associated shock and emotional breakdown following the accident affects the patient’s overall functioning. Our competent health care providers will determine whether the patient requires a comprehensive neuro-psychological assessment and will make the necessary referral.
